America Moving Forward, a non-profit coalition devoted to advancing innovative solutions to the infrastructure crisis that is currently plaguing Americas roads, bridges and highways, has appointed John M. Palatiello as its executive director.
It is clear that our nations transportation infrastructure has reached a critical point, said Palatiello. Our roads and bridges are cracked and crumbling and traffic congestion is at an all-time high. As state budgets come under increasing strain and transportation funds get cut year after year, we are in urgent need of cost-effective, practical solutions to our nations infrastructure problems. Private investment in public infrastructure is an important part of such a solution.
Palatiello comes to America Moving Forward with a broad range of experience. Palatiello is President of John M. Palatiello & Associates, Inc., based in Reston, Virginia, and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Management Association of Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) and as Administrator of the Council on Federal Procurement of Architectural-Engineering Services (COFPAES). He has also served as a member of the Fairfax County, Virginia Planning Commission, the Fairfax County Transportation Commission, and the Northern Virginia Transportation Planning Boards Citizenss Advisory Committee.
Mr. Palatiello and his staff will provide a full range of association management services to America Moving Forward, including general management, membership development, communications, conference planning and financial management. America Moving Forwards founding executive director, Peter Loughlin, remains with the coalition as a consultant focusing on policy and stakeholder relationships.
We are pleased to be working with America Moving Forward as the collation works to advance public-private partnerships as an important strategy in meeting our nations infrastructure needs. The addition of our firm is an important step in the growth of America Moving Forward.
America Moving Forward is committed to seeking safe, practical solutions to our nations infrastructure crisis. The coalition envisions a program of innovative partnerships between government, communities and the private sector that eases the burden on taxpayers and frees up money for other valuable government services. These partnerships will not only restore the reliability of American infrastructure, they will improve the quality of life for millions of Americans. To learn more, go to www.americamovingforward.org.
