John Byrd, a lobbyist at John M. Palatiello & Association, attends a Hill Event called the “Latino Entrepreneurship & The American Dream.” Byrd questions Rep. Carlos Curbelo on the resources available for the infrastructure community by speaking about the Digital Coast Act. Rep. Curbelo is one of the co-signers of this bill that was introduced in the House on October 12th, 2017.
At the event, Rep. Curbelo responded by saying, “Something that I think the federal government must do urgently within the next few years is start dedicating some of our infrastructure funding to coastal communities to make sure that we can protect coastal communities from the salt-level intrusion [and] sea-level rise.”
He continued by saying that “the federal government will have to come in to complement these efforts in the short term, because these communities are economic drivers for the country, as you (John Byrd) have indicated, these are port of entries.”
